palm-fringed sandy beaches and verdant tea plantations
in the central highlands to tropical rainforests.

The island is characterized by rolling plains in the north
and the mountains in the interior, featuring waterfalls
and numerous national parks.

– Central Highlands:

This region is the heart of the island, known for its cooler climate,
misty mountains, waterfalls, and endless tea plantations.
Key destinations include Ella, Nuwara Eliya, and Horton Plains National Park.

– Coast and Beaches:

Sri Lanka boasts a 1,450 km coastline with idyllic palm-fringed beaches.
The south coast (Mirissa, Weligama) is famous for surf spots and whale watching,

using ancient irrigation systems (wewa).
